Ways to Increase Reader’s Engagement on Your Blog

Engagement of your Reader’s on Your Blog

While you might be satisfied with just getting people to your blog, keeping them there is the real challenge. With such hard work involved in getting a visitor to your blog, it would be a shame to have them hit the back button without reading or interacting with your content at all.
Luckily, there are things that you can do to retain visitors so that they will explore your content, share them with their friends and family, and keep them coming back for more.

Here, I’ve listed 4 ways that you can increase a reader’s engagement on your blog.

1. Have a Clean Layout

Everything starts with the first impression. If a visitor were to land on your page and is met with flashing banners asking them to click on them, they will most likely leave your blog without a second thought. Make sure that your blog is mostly filled with content and have the ads placed on the side. Having ads is important to any Publisher, but place them improperly will actually detract from your blog’s appeal.

2. Link to Your Old Posts

Creating entries that are linked to previous posts allows you to have visitors that haven’t read your content before interact more with your site. Linking to old posts shows that you are writing relevant content that could relate back to the topic your visitor was looking for, leading to more time spent browsing your blogs.

3. Make Searching and Navigation Easy

For visitors, it’s a hard chore to plow through loads of articles just to find the content they are looking for. Make their life easier by adding a search box that tags to the appropriate content. Also, add a navigation bar showing different categories so that visitors can easily go to topics or explore subjects if they are just curious and don’t have a specific topic in mind.

4. Unique Content

Create your own unique content so that it stands out from the rest of the blogs. Since there are millions of bloggers on the internet, there are probably blogs on topics similar to yours. What makes your content special and make them come back for more? Add your own twist by giving your own opinions or thoughts to lure those visitors back for more.

So, Follow it, grab it and go......
